The book in Zohran Mamdani’s hand isn’t the issue—the issue is a politics that treats 9/11 like an uncomfortable footnote while focusing more on foreign grievances than the wounds of Lower Manhattan.
Mamdani didn’t invent forgetting. He represents what forgetting looks like when it wins.
New Yorkers who still leave flowers at the memorial have every right to demand a City Hall that puts this city, its fallen firefighters and police officers, and its own people first.
