Abandoned Puppy Tied to Kennel on Highway Gets Rescued and Finds a Loving Home

When a kind lady and volunteer at Farm To Able, an animal sanctuary in Blue Springs, Missouri, spotted a little puppy tied to a kennel in the middle of a highway, she quickly acted.

She untied him and carefully carried him to her car.

The pup, later named Sullivan, felt immense relief knowing that a good soul had come to his rescue.

The compassionate volunteer immediately reported the case to Animal Control.

After Sullivan’s five-day stray hold expired and no one claimed him, he began searching for a place to stay. The shelters were overcrowded and couldn’t accommodate him.

A Safe Haven for Sullivan

Sullivan’s rescuer reached out to Sheriee, the founder of the sanctuary, who graciously agreed to foster him and help him find his forever home.

When Sullivan arrived at the farm animal sanctuary, he eagerly explored his new surroundings.

He quickly befriended the pigs, chickens, cows, and horses.

The puppy was grateful to be at the sanctuary. He couldn’t wait to see what the future had in store for him.

While he was settling into his foster home, Sheriee worked diligently to find him a permanent family.

As Sheriee got to know Sullivan better, she was impressed by his calm demeanor.

“He’s got a calmness about him that’s very, very unique for a puppy,” Sheriee shared with Cuddle Buddies.

Sheree sent videos of Sullivan to her son, James, who had always dreamed of adopting a dog. On one occasion, she jokingly suggested he give Sully a home. To her surprise, James eagerly agreed.

Sullivan Finds His Forever Dad

The first time James saw Sullivan, he knew instantly that the puppy was meant to be his.

“He said there was just something about it where he just felt like it was, that was his dog,” Sheriee recalled.

Sullivan felt a deep connection with his new dad, too. As James held him, Sullivan melted in his arms, radiating love.

Sheriee was convinced that the two of them were destined to meet. She was overjoyed, knowing that Sullivan would have a wonderful life with her son.

“He will never have to worry whether or not his human loves him or is coming back for him… He will always be safe, protected & loved beyond measure,” Sheriee wrote on Instagram.

After three weeks at the sanctuary, Sullivan moved to Denver, Colorado, where he began the happiest chapter of his life.

Now, the adorable puppy is living life to the fullest. He enjoys hiking with his dad and playing in the snow.

Thanks to the kind-hearted woman who rescued him from the highway, Sullivan got the chance to experience happiness and unconditional love.
