Local neighbors noticed him sitting in the same spot, watching the road. They started leaving out food and water, hoping to help.

When news spread that the house was scheduled for demolition, concerned neighbors reached out to Logan’s Legacy, a local dog rescue founded by Suzette Hall.

Hall arrived quickly and was deeply moved when she saw Fritter. ā€œHe truly believed they would come back,ā€ she said.

A New Beginning for Fritter

Using a humane trap filled with treats, Hall tried to coax Fritter to safety. But he resisted, just like he had with the neighbors. After a tense effort, they finally managed to corner him and gently guide him into the trap.

ā€œHe was shaking so badly,ā€ Hall recalled. ā€œBut once we were in the van, I spoke to him softly the whole ride. It was like he started to understand he was safe.ā€

By the time they reached Camino Pet Hospital, Fritter allowed Hall to hold him. She promised him that he would never be abandoned again.

At the clinic, Fritter received a warm bath and much-needed medical care.

With each passing hour, he began to relax. His tail started to wag, and his eyes grew brighter. He was finally able to smile.

Fritter is currently staying at the hospital, soaking up love from everyone he meets.

While he waits for a foster or forever home, he’s surrounded by people who remind him daily that he is safe, cherished, and never alone again.
