Tiny Pup Spends Two Weeks Hiding in Parking Lot Before Finding Her Happy Ending

On a scorching September day in Los Angeles, California, dog rescuer Suzette Hall received an urgent call from her local jail. A guard had spotted a small, furry intruder running across the property, but she wouldn’t leave.

Upon seeing a picture of the tiny, Chihuahua-like pup, Hall, the founder of Logan’s Legacy 29, knew she had to act quickly.

A Tiny Pup in Desperate Need of Help

As Hall made her way to the scene, she received more details about the pup living in the jail parking lot. The guards had been trying to help but hadn’t been able to get close to her for the past two weeks.

“This tiny, little girl was in a jail parking lot for two weeks,” Hall shared on Facebook. “The employees brought a bed for her and fed her. But as soon as someone would even look at her, she would run for her tiny life.”

By the time Hall arrived that evening, the temperature had reached a blistering 105°F. Concerned about the pup’s safety under the relentless sun, Hall feared she was running out of time. But when she found the pup resting on her bed, she was surprised to see the dog at peace despite the intense heat.

“When I got there last night and saw her sleeping in the little bed, my heart sank,” Hall wrote. “She was so tiny.”

Moments later, the pup opened her eyes and fled at the sight of Hall.

“She saw me and ran so fast,” Hall recalled.

While the pup bolted to a quiet corner of the parking lot, Hall set a humane dog trap next to her bed. She hid nearby, waiting for the little one to return.

Not long after, Hall received the news she had been hoping for.

“The guard at the gate said she just ran past him, so I knew she was headed back to her bed,” Hall wrote. “I waited about 15 minutes and slowly went to look… and there she was, safe in my trap.”

Overcome with emotion, Hall couldn’t believe what she was seeing—this tiny pup was finally safe after weeks of being alone.

“I cried because her two weeks of being alone were finally over,” Hall wrote. “This little, tiny girl was finally safe.”

She carefully carried the trap to her car and drove Tiny straight to Camino Pet Hospital. On the way there, Hall named her new companion Tiny.

Tiny’s New Beginning

The team at Camino Pet Hospital welcomed Tiny with open arms, making sure she was healthy, clean, and well-fed. A few weeks later, once she was cleared for adoption, Tiny found the perfect forever home.

Tiny’s life has been transformed since her rescue. She’s settling into her new life and gearing up for her first winter with a loving family.

“Tiny has been adopted,” Hall posted on Facebook. “Look at her in her little coat and boots. I just can’t take the cuteness overload.”

Thanks to the jail employees’ refusal to ignore Tiny and Hall’s unwavering dedication, the sweet girl now has a long, happy life ahead of her. Though Tiny is just one of many rescues, she will always hold a special place in Hall’s heart.

“Happy life, sweet baby girl,” Hall wrote. “I love you so much.”
