Cocker Spaniel’s “Flicky Ears” Magic Trick Will Make Your Day

Cocker Spaniel's "Flicky Ears" Trick Will Leave You Amazed

In today’s world of social media, funny situations, and quirky reactions can’t stay hidden for long. A TikTok video featuring a Cocker Spaniel performing a hilarious trick with her big ears is the perfect example.

If you’re not familiar with this breed, you might just think it’s pure magic—but soon, you’ll see for yourself.

The Viral “Flicky Ears” Trick

When JoJo’s owner, Lin, first met her, the rescue dog didn’t seem to have any special talents. Like any playful pup, JoJo loved to eat, play, and, most importantly, cuddle with her favorite people.

But there was one thing that caught Lin’s attention—a quirky move JoJo would do now and then.

Whenever one of the housemates praised her, JoJo’s long, floppy ears would flip up.

Lin found this so adorable that she decided to record it and share the short clip on her TikTok profile with the caption: “JoJo has amazing ears! She’s so sweet”.

In the background of the video, you can hear someone asking, “How’s the fluffy ears going?”—to which JoJo curls up her ears in the cutest way.

The next question is, “Are you a lovely girl?” and JoJo’s ears perk up again in an equally endearing moment.

This video sparked an outpouring of positive reactions. But some viewers were left puzzled, like one TikTok user who asked, “How does that work?!”

Lin’s reply? One simple word: “😂 Magic.”

Most other viewers were just in awe, commenting on how incredible it was to see a dog with floppy ears do something so special. One even mentioned, “Our cocker spaniel does the same! We call it flicky ears.”

The video quickly gained over 100k views, and it’s easy to see why—it’s just too cute not to watch.

Just A Typical Cocker Spaniel

Although Lin jokingly attributes JoJo’s ear trick to magic, the real explanation is rooted in genetics.

The Cocker Spaniel, one of the most popular family dog breeds, is known for its signature floppy ears, which are actually part of its genetic makeup. This unique trait allows it to move its ears independently.

Those large ears, designed to enhance their hearing, were originally intended to help them in hunting. Over time, this evolved into a special talent, giving these dogs the ability to play with their ears literally.

That said, this doesn’t diminish JoJo’s special ability to raise her ears every time someone compliments her.

It’s a talent that makes her truly one-of-a-kind.
