Rescuers Were Heartbroken When They Learned the Painful Truth About This Stray Dog’s Life

Although dogs are known for their love of freedom, they truly long for the warmth of a home and the companionship of those they love. Yet far too many dogs are still found tied to fences, left longing for a better life.

This was the heartbreaking sight that the rescuers from Howl Of A Dog encountered when they found a four-year-old German Shepherd mix tethered in front of a house.

Without hesitation, they approached the house and spoke to the owner, who claimed the dog wasn’t his. He insisted the dog was a stray that had appeared two months ago, and he had been forced to tie him up out of fear that the dog might chase his livestock.

But as they examined the dog more closely, the rescuers uncovered a different story.

Heartbreaking Discovery

The rescuers immediately began examining every part of the dog’s body, and soon enough, they discovered the microchip. This was the key that revealed the truth: the dog had an owner, and he was just a few miles away—in a nearby village.

Without hesitation, they headed to that location. As they stood in front of the real owner’s door, they were met with the loud barking of several dogs, welcoming them with an unmistakable sound of life.

When the owner finally opened the door, they gently asked what had happened to his dog. He explained that Lupin, as he called him, had gone missing two months ago, matching the story they had heard from the other man.

Though they hoped the issue was resolved and the owner would joyfully reunite with his lost dog, they were met with a heartbreaking response. Having already cared for many dogs, the man sorrowfully admitted that he could no longer keep Lupin and asked the rescuers to find him a new family.

It was heartbreaking for them, as they could see the genuine sorrow in his eyes. Unable to turn their backs, they had no choice but to take Lupin with them, determined to do everything in their power to find this sweet boy a forever home.

As they made their way back, they took the opportunity to do one more good deed. They brought bags of food and flea and tick medication to the other dogs, who greeted them warmly at the entrance of the yard. The pups, along with their owner, were overjoyed by this kind gesture.

With hearts full of joy and satisfaction, they were finally able to return to the rescue premises – this time, bringing along their new canine companion, Lupin.

A Fresh Start

When Lupin arrived, he was overjoyed to be free and unchained finally. The relief on his face was unmistakable. But it didn’t take long for the rescuers to notice that he was extremely hungry, so they quickly prepared a bowl of food for him. He devoured it in seconds, showing just how much he had been longing for a proper meal.

Throughout his time at the shelter, Lupin proved time and again that he was a truly good boy. There wasn’t a bad bone in him. He formed a deep bond with his rescuers almost immediately, showering them with affection. A loving and cheerful dog, he found joy in the simplest things, like playing with his new toy. Lupin became a balm for everyone’s soul, bringing comfort and happiness to all who met him.

Sadly, a shelter can’t be a forever home for any dog, not even for Lupin. That’s why the team at Howl Of A Dog worked tirelessly to ensure this sweet pup found his happy ending as quickly as possible.

After everything he endured over the past two months, he truly deserves nothing less.

Good luck, Lupin! We all believe and hope the next chapter of your life will be filled with love and happiness.
