“This is what happens to dogs who’ve been in shelters too long,” Dali wrote. “Tinker’s losing hope convinced no one will come for her. She just sits there, facing the wall.”
Tinker recently lost the family she loved and now found herself completely alone, without a glimmer of hope that she’d ever find a new home.
To make matters even worse, she was repeatedly overlooked at the shelter and labeled as “aggressive” by those who didn’t understand her. In reality, Tinker is anything but difficult. She’s a gentle soul who adores being cuddled but feels frightened when someone tries to pick her up.
Because of her past trauma, Tinker sees being picked up as something frightening—a reaction that people sometimes mistake for aggression.
Even so, Saving Sage Animal Rescue in Lauderhill, Florida, is committed to helping Tinker and other dogs feel safe and cared for despite the challenges that come with it.
For now, Tinker remains heartbroken in her kennel, spending most of her days there, hoping that one day, things might finally turn around.
