A Proud Rottweiler Mom Delivers an Unexpectedly Large Litter

On October 15, 2017, in her loving forever home, a two-year-old Rottweiler named Jessie surprised everyone by giving birth to an astonishing 15 healthy puppies!

That’s right—fifteen adorable little Rottweilers!

This was the first time Eleanor Usher and her husband, Ian, had bred puppies, and they were utterly stunned by such an unexpected outcome.

Eleanor told SWNS, “We were given a due date of October 17, but on October 15, around 1:50 a.m., I heard this scratching noise coming from the bottom of the stairs.”

Little did they know, Jessie was already hard at work delivering her first two puppies, with many more arriving soon after!

The moment Eleanor and Ian understood what was unfolding, they hurried down the stairs to support their girl, Jessie.

“We didn’t get an ultrasound since it was quite pricey, and I was told to expect around three to five puppies,” Eleanor shared. “But after the sixth puppy, I was thinking, ‘That’s a good girl, you can stop now—you don’t have to have any more!’”

Little did they know, Jessie was just getting started…

The Puppies Just Kept Arriving Nonstop

They were convinced Jessie would wrap things up soon, but the puppies just kept arriving!

“Oh my god, when is she going to stop?” Eleanor exclaimed in disbelief.

After the eleventh puppy, they couldn’t help but check the records. At that moment, the largest Rottweiler litter in the UK stood at 18 puppies, a record set back in 2009.

With the pace at which the little ones were coming, they started to worry that Jessie might actually break that record and hit 20 puppies!

By 8:00 a.m., Jessie had finished her incredible journey. In the end, she blessed them with 15 beautiful puppies that they couldn’t help but be proud of.

It was all Jessie’s doing—she didn’t need a bit of help from them. What a strong momma!

Eleanor shared, “Ian and I have a schedule set up to feed the pups day and night. It’s exhausting, but every moment is worth it to see their adorable faces.”
