There’s no way to truly understand the joy of having a dog as part of your family until you’ve experienced it firsthand.

It’s not just a saying—dogs really are man’s best friend. They’re there for you through thick and thin, offering endless love and loyalty for their entire lives.

Kirsty and her family know this better than most. They’ve always had a deep love for these incredible furry companions, and for most of their lives, at least one dog has shared their home.

But during a brief period without a dog, they felt the emptiness in their house more than ever before. It wasn’t quite the same without the sound of paws padding around.

Thankfully, that didn’t last long, and soon enough, their home was filled with joy again when Kirsty and her three children welcomed a new four-legged friend into their lives. The happiness that followed was simply indescribable.

He Brought Happiness Back to the Home

Kirsty and her family had the joy of sharing their home with four wonderful dogs, each one filling their days with love and happiness. Despite the number, their house never felt crowded—it felt complete.

But in what seemed like the blink of an eye, all four crossed the rainbow bridge, leaving an emptiness that was impossible to ignore. The silence that filled their home during that brief time without the sound of paws and happy barks was the loneliest they had ever experienced.

Kirsty knew something had to change. A house without a dog just didn’t feel right. That’s when a sweet little Corgi puppy came into their lives, and they named him Benjamin, making their family feel whole again.

Having a puppy was a completely new experience for them, as they had never had one before. But that didn’t stop them from instantly falling in love with him—especially Kirsty’s three children, Harry, Charlie, and Holly. And Benji, in return, gave them all his love right back.

“He was head over heels for them from the start,” Kirsty shared during her interview with Cuddle Buddies. “Every morning, he comes with me to wake each one of them up. He’ll jump on their beds, give them a little lick on the face, and make sure everyone’s up and ready to start the day.”

Then, he would wait eagerly for them to come home, and as soon as they walked through the door, the house would fill with pure joy. Ever since Benji became part of the family, it’s been like this every single day.

A Joyful, Chaotic Life

The moment the children walk through the door and Benji catches sight of them, the house erupts in joyful chaos. None of them can contain their excitement, and before you know it, endless games are underway.

“They love playing football with him, and they even enjoy having a bath together, which can get pretty wild and very wet. He just wants to be with them all the time,” Kirsty shared with a smile.
