From the moment they saw her, they were captivated by her gentle spirit. They couldn’t stand by and do nothing, especially when they saw the sadness in her beautiful eyes.

Determined to help, they rushed to comfort her. They wrapped her in warmth, gave her food, and, most importantly, let her know that she wasn’t invisible anymore. She mattered.

They didn’t stop there. The kind-hearted shoppers quickly called Animal Control to ensure Izzy would get the help she desperately needed. When the officers arrived, they were met with the sight of the weary mama, and it didn’t take long for them to realize that she had recently given birth.

A quick search around the area led them to the most precious discovery—Izzy’s tiny puppies. Fragile and hungry, the little ones needed just as much care and love as their brave mother.

A Safe Haven For Izzy And Her Pups

With great care, the rescuers gently gathered Izzy and her babies, placing them in a crate for their journey to the Amelia Animal Shelter – Virginia.

The very next day, Izzy and her puppies were taken to the vet for a much-needed checkup.

The shelter posted an update on Facebook: “Mom and the babies went to the vet today and got checked out, pedicures, and some meds. Everyone is doing well and eating well.”

Izzy and her babies quickly became the heart of the shelter. Watching the puppies eagerly devour their meals, staff members couldn’t help but fall in love with the whole family. Every glance from Izzy seemed to say thank you as if she finally understood that her little family was safe.

Izzy’s caregivers made sure she had moments of rest from her motherly duties, showering her with love and treats as she enjoyed time outdoors.
