When I first stumbled upon Keller’s story, my heart shattered.

How could such a gentle, loving soul be without a family to call his own? What cruel twist of fate led him to be alone?

These questions lingered in my mind, and I couldn’t shake the thought that sometimes, no matter how wonderful a companion you are, there are battles you just can’t fight on your own. Through no fault of his own, Keller found himself in a shelter, pleading with every passerby for just a sliver of hope.

The silver lining? He never, not even for a moment, lost faith that someone kind would notice him.

A Heart of Gold Deserving of a Home

To this day, Keller’s past remains a mystery. Before he made his way to PupStarz Rescue in New York City, he was staying at another shelter.

Thanks to the rescue’s dedicated partners in Tennessee, Keller was transferred to PR, where his new journey began.

“This adorable senior pup is on the lookout for his forever home where he can live out his golden years in comfort and love,” PR shared in a Facebook post.

From the moment he stepped into his new, temporary home, Keller’s sweet and friendly nature won everyone over. He quickly became the darling of the rescue.

It wasn’t long before he found a loving foster home with a woman named Kristen, where he truly blossomed.

“His loving nature and gentle spirit make him an instant favorite with everyone he meets. Although he appears to be deaf, Keller doesn’t let that slow him down one bit. He’s a resilient little guy who continues to spread joy wherever he goes,”  the rescue noted.

Despite his age, it was nothing short of amazing to see Keller thrive. He never allowed his years to weigh him down, even after a dental procedure on top of his hearing impairment left him without any teeth.

As if possible, being a toothless senior at ten years old only made him more endearing!

“His tongue now adorably hangs out of his mouth most of the time, giving him the cutest, most endearing expression,” the rescue added.

Keller’s Golden Years Filled with Love and Joy

For months, Keller shared nothing but happiness. He’s a little lover who adores walks and long cuddle sessions with his foster mom.

And when he’s not busy showering people with endless kisses and hugs, Keller loves to play with his canine pals. Despite his small stature, he’s never shied away from making friends with dogs much bigger than himself!

It’s safe to say that Keller is the total package and would be a perfect addition to any family ready to embrace him. Fortunately, he didn’t have to wait long!

Just last month, Keller’s prayers were answered by two big-hearted people who came knocking on the rescue’s door, eager to bring him into their lives.

The moment Keller realized he was finally getting a forever home, his joy was uncontainable. He was absolutely thrilled to join a family that would love and cherish him for who he is.

After all the waiting and wondering, Keller is now exactly where he was always meant to be – in a loving home, ready to savor every moment of his golden years.
