When the rescuers from Howl Of A Dog arrived at the place where this poor dog was living, they discovered her huddled beneath a crumbling house. The moment she spotted them, fear overtook her, and she quickly retreated to a safer distance.
Though they knew her owner had passed away and that she had been living outside an empty house for months, they had little else to piece together her tragic story.
Still, the heartbreaking truth that she had lost both her loved one and her home overnight was reason enough to explain her fearful behavior.
Despite her fear, the rescuers refused to give up. They patiently followed her, watching as she darted away from them, keeping her distance until she reached the far edge of the yard.

Their next priority was taking her to the veterinary clinic for a thorough health check. As expected, they found Amber infested with thousands of ticks. She was also diagnosed with Babesiosis, a tick-borne illness, and immediately began receiving the necessary medical treatment.
Without a microchip, there was no way to trace Amber’s medical history or know if she had ever received veterinary care. Yet, this didn’t stop her rescuers from doing everything possible to help her heal, both physically and emotionally.
As her body began to recover, so did her spirit. Surrounded by love and care, Amber’s emotional wounds slowly mended, and each day brought her closer to a new beginning. She made new friends along the way, and with each connection, her heart grew a little fuller.
No longer alone in an empty house, Amber’s life was about to change most wonderfully. Soon, she would once again have someone to center her world around.

After learning about Amber’s heartbreaking story, Tatjana, a devoted friend of Howl Of A Dog, made it her mission to ensure Amber would find a new home — one that would finally be filled with the love she deserved.
Amber didn’t have to wait long for good news. Brigit and Lars, a pair of dog lovers, stepped forward to become her foster parents. It was meant to be a temporary arrangement, just until Amber could find her forever home.
But fate had other plans—this time, for the better. Brigit and Lars quickly fell in love with Amber, and before long, they decided to adopt her. In that moment, Amber’s heart, once so heavy with loss, was now overflowing with love, and her new home was no longer empty—it was filled with warmth and joy.
