A quiet day in a New Jersey neighborhood took a surprising turn when a resident glanced up and noticed a strange furry shape moving on the rooftop of a nearby home. At first, it was difficult to tell what it was. The figure looked like some kind of animal, but it wasn’t immediately clear which kind.
Upon closer inspection, the resident was shocked to see that it was actually a puppy. The small dog looked frail, underfed, and had severely matted fur. He walked carefully along the roof as if searching for someone to notice him.
The neighbor, deeply concerned, took a photo and posted it on Facebook, asking others for help.
Meeting His Heroes
Thankfully, several kind-hearted people responded to the post and rushed to the location. When they arrived, the little pup, later named Fiddler, seemed confused and unsure. Although he clearly needed help, he didn’t know if he could trust these unfamiliar faces.
The rescuers used calm, gentle voices to soothe him. Slowly, Fiddler began to realize that these people meant no harm.
Once they reached him, they saw just how malnourished he was, with his ribs clearly showing. He was transported to a crowded shelter, where he remained on a stray hold for seven days.
Unfortunately, nobody came to claim him.
Soon after, Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge stepped in and took full responsibility for his care. The team trimmed away the tangled fur, gave him a full medical evaluation, and began the process of rebuilding his strength.
Looking Forward To A New Life
With proper nutrition and loving care, Fiddler began to thrive. His playful nature started to shine, and the once-timid puppy transformed into a cheerful and energetic dog. His rescuers noticed how much joy he brought to everyone around him.
According to a team member quoted, “Fiddler is a typical silly puppy. He is tall, lanky, awkward, and endlessly charming.
He loves playing with other dogs, soaking up attention, and bouncing around with contagious joy.”
Now all Fiddler needs is a forever home filled with love and patience. His rescue team hopes to find a family that will help him continue to grow and leave his difficult past behind.
With his heart full of hope, Fiddler is more than ready for a fresh start and a life filled with happiness.
