With two cats and her loyal dog, Nelson, she’s learned to expect a little chaos. But one morning, she found herself in for a shock.
At 5:30 a.m., Nelson nudged her awake for his usual potty break. When he came trotting back, ready to be let inside, Tracy spotted something unexpected right beside him…
Surprise Guest
Nelson stood on the porch, tail wagging happily like it was the most normal thing in the world—even though it was only 5:30 a.m.!
Patiently, he waited for Tracy to open the door, blissfully unaware that the unexpected friend he’d brought along would give his mom quite the early morning surprise!
As Tracy welcomed Nelson back inside, a soft rustling on the porch caught her attention. Turning, she spotted two glowing eyes staring back at her, leaving her momentarily stunned. She hadn’t expected another visitor at such an early hour!
Then it dawned on her—it was Dozer, the neighbor’s dog!
“Nelson woke me up at 5:30 a.m. to go potty, and guess who decided to tag along,” Tracy shared in the video.
Dozer’s been popping by for ages, often ringing the doorbell like an old friend asking to come in. Tracy’s used to his visits, but this time, he managed to catch his favorite human off guard.
“He gives me a good scare sometimes, but I love him to pieces. Dozer got his treat, a cuddle, and then we all went back to bed,” she shared.
Dozer Time Can Happen Anytime
It all started three years ago when Dozer showed up for his very first visit. Tracy was busy with chores in the garage when, out of nowhere, he appeared, tail-wagging in his usual friendly way.
She welcomed him with a treat and a warm cuddle, and after a while, Dozer trotted back home.
From that day on, the two became fast friends.
Since then, Dozer has made himself right at home with Tracy and her family, stopping by for far more than just a treat.
Dozer has settled right in with the family, cozying up to Nelson and even the cats. Once Tracy lets him in, he strolls into the house, gets his treat and a cuddle, then picks a spot for a nice, long nap.
Sometimes, he stays the whole night, enjoying the company and warmth of the family. But when he’s ready to go, he’ll give a gentle nudge, signaling it’s time to head back to his original home.
Tracy shares that Dozer travels about half a mile to her place with his owners fully in the loop. While they don’t interact often, his other family is more than happy to see him enjoying his “second home,” especially knowing he’s cherished there.
“He makes his way over from about half a mile away, weaving through farms and trees,” Tracy shares in another video.
By now, Dozer has truly become part of his Washington family. His owners love him deeply, but he’s found a place in Tracy’s heart, too—a place she’s more than happy to give him!
Dozer even has his own TikTok account, where Tracy shares snippets of his daily visits.
Tracy and her family adore Dozer, and they just hope his little “in-between homes” journey doesn’t wear him out.
“I really believe Dozer is one-of-a-kind and enjoys his life split between families,” Tracy shares.
