We had considered beginning this story with “life shapes our paths,” but no… it’s not life that shapes our paths, but us and the people we meet along the way.

Unfortunately, while we are free to choose the parts we play, tiny beings like Alberto are not.

It’s truly heartbreaking that some people can harm or abandon an animal, but just as distressing as that is, it’s equally heartening to know that there are compassionate souls who would go to great lengths to save a helpless creature like the endearing pup in this story.

From the box of despair to the box of hope

Discovering a puppy abandoned in a crate, left behind by those he trusted the most, is one of the most devastating scenes for any animal lover. Alberto, a tiny yet brave little dog, endured the harsh reality of life alone in a crate with a worm in his eye—a likely reason why he was cruelly discarded.

Fortunately, a group of kind-hearted individuals from Paticasporayudar, including the lady from the Paws Show’s video, discovered the pup and immediately provided care.

The woman was shattered by the condition of the pup and deeply saddened by the thought that he was abandoned when he needed help the most:

“Who could be so heartless to do something like this? I can’t leave him here alone.”

She pleaded for help from kind souls while holding the puppy in the crate—a moment that broke my heart as well, to be honest.

But my sadness was soon replaced by joy when I saw the next part of the video, which focused on Alberto’s journey to recovery.

Thanks to the kindness of these good people, this little fellow’s crate of sorrow turned into a crate full of hope.

Alberto’s Path to Healing

In addition to being malnourished and in poor overall condition, Alberto was also battling another health issue—eye worms.

This type of infection is usually caused by flies that feed on a dog’s tears and lay their eggs in the eye. Alberto’s eye was infected, but thanks to a veterinarian who performed surgery to remove the maggots, he was spared from blindness [1].

The amazing team from Paticasporayudar did everything possible to keep Alberto safe and healthy. Their joy was palpable when this little pup opened his eyes and began eating, which isn’t surprising considering how adorable this furry companion is.

From a Bare Survivor to a Playful Companion

Seeing Alberto today, no one could ever imagine the hardships he endured. His lively personality and joyful energy show just how special this little pup is and how worthwhile it was to save him, just as it would be for any animal in need.

He loves spending time with his rescuers and other furry friends, running around and cuddling. It seems he has found his human as well… at least according to his savior’s words:

“Here, we continue with Alberto’s recovery, progressing slowly but surely. Every day, he gets a little better. My beautiful doll, my love, my tender, small, noble, lovingly pampered child.”

And I have to admit, I couldn’t agree more.

Although this story begins on a sorrowful note, nothing is more uplifting than seeing an abandoned, sick puppy finally enjoying life to the fullest.
