Sick Dog Taken To A Clinic Almost Didn’t Make It But Her Rescuers Would Not Give Up On Her

Abandoned Pup Fights for Her Life, Rescuers Never Give Up Until She Walks Again

Lately, I’ve read far too many heart-wrenching stories where families abandon their dogs, leaving them on the streets or chaining them up when they move to a new home.

I just can’t comprehend how anyone could do this. If you no longer want your pet, surrendering them to a shelter is the humane option.

Sadly, not many choose this path. Instead, these pets are left to fend for themselves, often starving on the streets. Dogs that have lived their entire lives indoors struggle immensely with such a drastic change.

This was exactly the case for a poor pup who her family abandoned and forced to survive on her own, but it didn’t go well for her.

Rescuers Step In to Help

When rescuers were informed about this case, they were absolutely shocked. Still, they quickly focused on the task ahead and rushed to rescue the pup.

Upon finding her, they saw her in distress, crying, and barely able to move. She had lost all strength, and it was clear she was very ill.

Without wasting any time, the rescuers took her straight to a clinic, where a compassionate woman offered to treat her with the necessary medical care.

When they arrived at intensive care, the pup was unconscious, so they took that opportunity to run all the necessary tests to figure out what was wrong with her.

They suspected fractures, but they couldn’t confirm anything without a CT scan or MRI. She also had multiple contusions: one on her lungs, another on her heart, and a third on her liver. Her gastrointestinal system was also not functioning properly.

The pup had accumulated a lot of fluid inside her, which the veterinarians worked quickly to drain. The CT scan confirmed that the dog, now named Michelle, had several fractures, but since they weren’t critical, they decided to let them heal naturally.

She was then taken for an MRI scan, which revealed even more serious issues, but thankfully, these were treatable.

Once her sedatives wore off and she regained some strength, Michelle was able to eat and drink with the help of the veterinarians.

Michelle’s Determination to Heal

Her condition gradually stabilized, and the treatments began to show positive results. Soon, her veterinarians started teaching her how to walk again.

As Michelle’s condition improved, the progress was inspiring. She was able to stand on her own for the first time.

She was then referred to a rehabilitation specialist to help her regain full mobility with proper guidance.

After weeks of dedicated therapy, the dog, now renamed Jessie-Michelle, learned to walk again. The rescuers couldn’t express enough how happy they were for her.

Once she was stable and her recovery complete, she was discharged from the clinic. The veterinarians and rescuers had done a remarkable job saving her life.

She was then placed in a foster home, where the therapy continued until she was fully healed.

This brave pup, now in perfect health, was soon adopted by a wonderful new family. Jessie-Michelle finally got to live the life she truly deserved.

After all she had endured, seeing her determination to recover fills my heart with joy. She truly is an incredible dog.
