1939 Buick Series 90 Limousine

Buick’s styling transformation for 1939 brought a distinctive two-piece waterfall grille, increased glass area, and larger doors across the lineup.

The Series 90 Limousine showcased these updates on formal coachwork stretching over a 140-inch wheelbase, the longest in Buick’s range.

The Limousine body featured a moveable glass partition separating the chauffeur’s compartment from the passenger area, with a speaker system allowing communication between front and rear.

At $2,450, it stood as Buick’s most expensive offering and competed against longer-wheelbase Cadillac and Packard models in the formal luxury segment.

Power came from a 320-cubic-inch overhead-valve straight-eight producing 141 horsepower, paired with a three-speed column-change transmission. Production remained limited, with just 423 limousines built for the model year.
