1932 Ford Model B Pickup

The 1932 Ford Model B Pickup represents a significant transition in automotive design. Powered by a 201-cubic-inch four-cylinder engine producing 50 horsepower, it maintained Ford’s commitment to reliable, affordable transportation while its V8 sibling garnered headlines. Both shared an innovative design featuring an outward curved, double-dropped chassis with longer wheelbase than previous models and modernized fuel delivery through an engine-driven pump rather than gravity feed. While virtually identical in appearance to the Model 18 V8 variant, the Model B continued Ford’s four-cylinder tradition with mechanical improvements.

These pickups typically came equipped with wire wheels, side-mounted spares, and practical black finishes. The Model B lineup offered various body styles in both standard and deluxe trims, giving customers options while maintaining manufacturing efficiency. These workhorses have become increasingly collectible due to their historical significance and relative scarcity, as many were either worked to destruction or modified for performance.
