1937 Packard 1508 Twelve Convertible Sedan

The 1937 Packard 1508 Twelve featured a powerful 473 cubic inch L-head V-12 engine generating 175 horsepower. The prestigious Fifteenth Series introduced several mechanical improvements, including “Safe-T-Flex” independent front suspension and hydraulic brakes, enhancing the driving experience compared to earlier models. Packard also replaced wire wheels with modern disc-type steel wheels and eliminated the Bijur central-chassis lubrication system.

Typically finished in elegant color schemes with luxurious leather interiors and fine woodgrain detailing, these vehicles represented Packard’s largest and most expensive production-bodied offerings. 1937 marked the final year the Twelve was offered on the massive 144-inch wheelbase chassis, making this model particularly significant in Packard’s history and highly valued among collectors of American classic automobiles.
