After being given away to a new family, Toby the cat couldn’t understand why the people he loved suddenly didn’t want him anymore. 💔 Missing them deeply, he did the only thing his little heart knew — he ran. For 12 long miles, Toby walked all the way back to his old home… hoping to be welcomed again.
But when he finally arrived at the doorstep, tail wagging and heart full of hope, his family’s response shattered everything. Instead of letting him in, they took him to a shelter — and asked for him to be put down. 😢

Thankfully, the shelter refused and reached out to SPCA of Wake County, who immediately stepped in to save his life. Toby was found to have feline immunodeficiency virus and a respiratory infection, but with love and care, he began to heal — not just physically, but emotionally too. ❤️
When his story was shared online, one woman named Michele Puckett saw him and instantly knew he was meant to be hers. She dropped everything, drove to the shelter, and adopted Toby that very same day. Now, he has a warm bed, loving humans, and even new cat siblings to cuddle with. 🏡
From being unwanted to becoming the heart of a new family — Toby’s story reminds us that love can rewrite any ending. 🌈
