1949 Delahaye 135 M Cabriolet (by Chapron)

The Delahaye Type 135, introduced at the 1935 Paris Salon, represented the company’s move toward high-performance luxury automobiles. The sporting Type 135 M variant, launched in 1936, featured a 3.5-liter straight-six engine producing 110 horsepower with triple carburetors. Available with either a four-speed manual or Cotal preselector transmission, the 135 M achieved notable racing success, including podium finishes at Le Mans and Spa. Produced until 1954, fewer than 3,000 Type 135s were built, with various prestigious coachbuilders including Chapron, Figoni, Franay, Pourtout, and Saoutchik creating custom bodies for the chassis.
