1979 Toyota Land Cruiser HJ45

Created to fulfill a decades-long enthusiast dream, the 1979 Toyota Land Cruiser HJ45 combines classic styling with modern capability. This rare vehicle emerged from a Costa Rican coffee plantation as a standard single cab pickup before undergoing an extraordinary transformation by specialists at The Vintage Cruiser Co. The comprehensive restoration merged an authentic HJ45 frame with a custom-designed crew cab configuration (something Toyota never officially produced).

Under the hood sits a thoroughly rebuilt 3,661cc OHV diesel inline 4-cylinder engine generating 98bhp, paired with a 5-speed manual transmission featuring low-range gearing. The upgraded chassis includes an Old Man Emu suspension system, front disc brakes, and ARB differential air lockers, while modern amenities like air conditioning, touchscreen navigation, and Bluetooth connectivity enhance the interior experience. These thoughtful modifications maintain the iconic character of Toyota’s legendary 4×4 while addressing its original limitations.
