This is Sophie..We adopted her six days ago from the shelter. She’s two years old, calm-eyed and quietly confident. I’ll admit, I was nervous bringing her home. Our six-month-old boy kitty is… a little monster. Sweet, but wild. He’s always a bit too rough with our gentle 15-year-old girl, and I worried Sophie might get the same treatment.

I shouldn’t have.

Within hours, she made it very clear that she runs on her own rules. No hissing fits. No chaos. Just pure attitude. A look. A stance. A silent message that said, “Not today, sir.”

Yesterday, I walked into the room and found the funniest, sweetest sight — him on his back in full submissive pose, paws tucked, while Sophie stood over him like a tiny queen delivering judgment.

No drama. Just balance restored.

I think she knew exactly what she was doing from the moment she stepped inside. And watching them already finding their rhythm together?

I think we’re going to be just fine.
