1923 Duesenberg Model A Tourer (more photos 👇)
The Duesenberg Model A holds a significant place in American automotive history as the first production car to feature four-wheel hydraulic brakes. After nearly a decade building only racing cars and engines, the Duesenberg brothers brought that competition experience directly into the Model A’s design.
Large knock-off wire wheels and a racing-style radiator gave the car a purposeful appearance. Under the hood, the 260ci (4.3L) SOHC inline-eight drew clear inspiration from the brothers’ 183ci (3.0L) Grand Prix racing engine, producing 88 hp at 3,600 rpm through a 3-speed manual gearbox.
Roughly 500 were built, with approximately 40 thought to survive today.
