1941 Cadillac Series 60 Special Sedan (by Fleetwood)

Bill Mitchell’s forward-thinking design made this luxury sedan a preview of Cadillac styling for the decade ahead. The 1941 Series 60 Special represented the final evolution of Mitchell’s original 1938 concept, showcasing the massive, broad grille that would become a Cadillac trademark throughout the 1940s.

Fleetwood coachwork provided quality construction and beautifully appointed interiors, making this the most prestigious Cadillac outside the formal limousine range. The distinctive styling featured clean, flowing lines, integrated fenders, and flush-mounted fender skirts, foreshadowing modern automotive design principles and earning recognition as one of the decade’s most significant achievements.

Power came from Cadillac’s 346-cubic-inch L-head V-8 engine producing 150 horsepower, paired with a three-speed selective synchromesh manual transmission. Independent front suspension with coil springs and a 127-inch wheelbase provided a comfortable, composed ride.

Today, these sedans rank among the most desirable CCCA Full Classics, offering surprisingly modern driving characteristics and strong touring capabilities.
