Meet Athena — a sweet cat born inside a cruel puppy mill in North Carolina. She lived in filthy cages surrounded by neglected dogs, suffering day after day with no care.
By the time she was rescued by the Humane Society, Athena could barely breathe. Overbreeding had left her with a severe respiratory infection, and vets feared the worst.
Her new family refused to give up on her. After several opinions, one vet offered hope: removing her nose might give her a real chance at life. ❤️
Today, Athena may look a little different, but she’s thriving. She hasn’t had another infection since surgery, and she happily breathes through her mouth.
She doesn’t know she’s different — all she knows is love. 💕 Athena is playful, affectionate, and finally living the life she always deserved.
