1964 Bentley S3 Continental Fixed Head Coupe
Introduced in autumn 1962, the Bentley S3 Continental marked the end of an era as the final coach-built Bentley constructed on a separate chassis. The model’s exclusivity and price placed it firmly in the realm of the wealthy, with notable owners including Jayne Mansfield, Keith Richards, and Harry Belafonte.
Mulliner Park Ward’s Design Number 2035 created one of the most elegant and distinctive body styles of the period, featuring a sleek Fixed Head Coupe profile with a straight-through wing line, cut-back wheel arches, diagonally arranged quad headlamps, and subtle tail fins.
This particular design was rare, applied to only about 76 examples (in both left- and right-hand drive) out of approximately 312 S3 Continentals produced between 1962 and 1966.
Power came from a 6,230cc overhead-valve V8 engine paired with a four-speed automatic transmission, capable of nearly 120 mph. The combination of performance, exclusivity, and elegant styling made the S3 Continental a desirable grand tourer for those who could afford its considerable cost.
