Birds don’t take dust baths just for fun — it’s actually a smart way to stay clean and healthy 😄

Why do birds take dust baths?

Remove parasites: Dust absorbs excess oil and helps dislodge mites and lice from feathers.

Clean their feathers: It works like a “dry shower,” keeping feathers from becoming greasy or clumped.

Keep feathers fluffy: Fluffy feathers improve insulation and flight efficiency.

Balance natural oils: Helps regulate the oil coating that protects their feathers.

Relaxation & instinct: It’s a natural behavior, and many birds clearly enjoy it.

You’ll often see birds lying on their side, flapping and tossing dust everywhere — it looks chaotic… but it’s basically their version of a spa day 😆
