1953 Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight Fiesta ๐Ÿ”ฅ

General Motors built just 458 examples of this ultra-exclusive convertible in 1953, making it the rarest member of the company’s prestigious “Triple Crown” alongside the Buick Skylark and Cadillac Eldorado.

Marketed as a “dream car for the public,” the Fiesta represented Oldsmobile’s attempt to bring show car glamour to wealthy buyers willing to pay premium prices, which in this case was a $5,715. This made it one of the most expensive American cars of its time.

The striking two-tone finish combined Turquoise and Arctic White paint, complementing the convertible’s sweeping lines and distinctive styling cues that previewed future Oldsmobile design directions. Chrome trim and whitewall tires added to the car’s upscale appearance.

Power came from Oldsmobile’s proven 303 cubic inch overhead valve Rocket V8 engine, paired with a four-speed Hydra-Matic automatic transmission that delivered smooth acceleration befitting the car’s luxury positioning.

The Fiesta rode on the Ninety-Eight chassis, providing a stable foundation for this flagship model. Curb weight was about 4,400 pounds (1,996 kg).

Today, experts believe fewer than 30 Fiestas survive from the original production run, making any example an exceptionally rare find among American automotive collectibles.
