This bird… looks like it was painted in pure neon.
In the humid forests of Central and South America, the Blue-naped Chlorophonia flashes through the canopy like a living gem. Its bright green body is crowned with a vivid blue cap and nape, creating a striking contrast against the leaves. It feeds mainly on fruits, especially mistletoe, along with small insects, moving quickly between branches in search of food. What makes it extraordinary is its intensity of color — a combination so bright it seems unreal in the shaded forest light. A spark of electric color in the treetops, yet a tiny jewel of the tropical canopy.
