1962 Volkswagen Beetle Convertible
Pacific Blue paint distinguished this convertible as one of the rarest factory color options, available only during the 1962 model year for the cabriolet. The distinctive hue was paired with a blue-green soft top with a matching boot cover, creating an attractive color coordination rarely seen today.
Under the rear deck sat its numbers-matching 1,192-cc flat-four engine. This example is fitted with a Judson Supercharger, a desirable period-correct aftermarket modification that significantly increased power output. The forced-induction system was popular among enthusiasts in the early 1960s and paired here with a four-speed manual transmission.
Period accessories include an Akkord removable โpicnicโ radio, DS spotlight, fog lights, mud flaps, and a Hazet tool kit, all authentic to the era. Wide whitewall tires and a rear tow hitch complete the practical yet stylish package.
This convertible demonstrates the international appeal of Volkswagenโs simple yet effective design philosophy during the early 1960s expansion into the American market.
