At first, it looked like dozens of abandoned nests hanging from the trees.
Then one bird moved — and the entire illusion suddenly made sense.

High above the rainforest canopy, Montezuma Oropendolas build long hanging nests that sway violently in the wind, turning whole trees into something almost unreal. In the middle of the noise, movement, and chaos, it becomes strangely difficult to tell which nests are truly active… and which ones are only there to fool predators.
