1969 Ferrari 365 GT 2+2
Pininfarina designed the 365 GT 2+2 with a sleek, low-slung fastback body that drew inspiration from the 500 Superfast and 365 California. Introduced at the 1967 Paris Salon, this four-passenger grand tourer was Ferrari’s largest and most comfort-oriented model of its era.
The 365 GT 2+2 marked several firsts for Ferrari. Power steering, power brakes, and power windows were standard equipment, while a self-leveling independent rear suspension enhanced ride comfort.
The interior featured supple leather upholstery, wood veneer trim, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, air conditioning, and a radio (luxuries that made long-distance touring effortless).
Power came from a 4.4-liter Colombo-designed V12 engine equipped with three Weber 40 DFI carburetors, producing 320 horsepower. This blend of grand-touring refinement and serious performance led Road & Track to dub the 365 GT 2+2 the “Queen Mother of Ferraris” in 1969.
