1909 Stoddard-Dayton Model 9A Five Passenger Touring

Built in Dayton, Ohio, by the Stoddard-Dayton Company, the Model 9A reflected the craftsmanship and innovation that helped establish the U.S. auto industry in the early 20th century. Powered by a four-cylinder engine producing around 35 horsepower, the Model 9A offered performance and reliability at a time when many automobiles were still experimental.

Its open touring body style, with seating for five, made it ideal for family outings and social drives, while its quality materials and careful construction appealed to buyers seeking refinement. Priced higher than many competitors, the Stoddard-Dayton was marketed as a premium car, often seen as a symbol of success.

Today, the Model 9A stands as a rare and fascinating reminder of the brass-era automobiles that paved the way for modern touring cars.
