Today, I had to say goodbye to my sweet girl, Lotti. She was 17 years old, and my heart is shattered as I write this. 💔

Lotti was the very first cat I ever called my own — shared at first with my flatmate before life pulled us in different directions. When my flatmate moved abroad, Lotti stayed with me, and I was so hopeful we’d still have years together. But fate gave us only one more.

She had been my comfort through so much — even before Covid, and especially through the hardest times. But in the past few weeks, her health declined so quickly. Renal failure stole her strength, leaving her thin and frail. And today, I made the most painful choice: to let her go with dignity, before suffering could take more from her.

On her final journey, I carried her out to a quiet meadow — far from everything. The sun warmed her tuxedo coat, the wind brushed through her whiskers… and she purred, loudly and proudly, the whole time. I like to believe she was telling me she felt peace. 🌿☀️
Hug your little tigers tight tonight. The world lost a great cat today. 🖤🐾
