The Helmeted Hornbill inhabits the rainforests of Southeast Asia, where it feeds mainly on figs and other fruits high in the canopy. Unlike other hornbills, its casque is solid rather than hollow, and males sometimes collide head-on in dramatic aerial contests to defend territory.
