The Australian Brush Turkey inhabits rainforests, woodlands, and suburban parks along eastern Australia. Instead of incubating its eggs with body heat, the male constructs a massive mound of leaves and soil, carefully adjusting the temperature for months while the eggs develop inside. It feeds on fruits, seeds, insects, and other small invertebrates.
