The Red-crested Cotinga is a rare and spectacular bird of the Atlantic Forest in eastern Brazil. The male’s glowing crimson head and crest contrast beautifully with his pale body, while the female wears more subtle shades that help her blend into the forest. Feeding mainly on fruits, it plays an important role in spreading seeds and supporting the health of its woodland home.
A dazzling jewel of the rainforest, reminding us that some of nature’s rarest wonders are also its most unforgettable.
