This mysterious owl is more often heard than seen beneath the cover of darkness.

The Stygian Owl is a powerful nocturnal hunter found from Mexico through Central and South America to parts of the Caribbean. Its long ear tufts, piercing yellow eyes, and dark plumage help it blend into the shadows as it silently hunts birds, bats, rodents, and other small animals. Despite its wide range, it is rarely spotted because of its secretive habits and preference for dense forests.

A silent phantom of the night, proving that some of nature’s greatest hunters leave behind little more than a whisper in the dark.
