This may be one of the most intensely purple birds you’ll ever see.
The Violet-backed Starling is a dazzling African starling found across much of sub-Saharan Africa. The male is covered in extraordinary iridescent violet-purple plumage that can glow almost metallic under direct sunlight, while the female is much more subtly colored in brown and gray. It feeds mainly on fruits and insects, often moving through woodland canopies in search of food.
A living flash of violet in the African sky, proving that nature can create colors that look almost impossible to be real.
