This tiny island bird brings a flash of crimson to the tropical forests of Samoa.

The Samoan Myzomela is a small honeyeater found only on the islands of Samoa. The male’s vivid red plumage contrasts beautifully with darker wings and back, making it a striking sight as it moves among flowering trees. Using its slender bill and brush-tipped tongue, it feeds on nectar while also taking small insects, helping pollinate the plants it visits.

A tiny jewel of the Pacific islands, proving that even the smallest backyard visitors can hold an entire island’s wild beauty.
