The Common Potoo is a mysterious nocturnal bird found across Central and South America and parts of the Caribbean. Its mottled gray-brown plumage provides incredible camouflage during the day, when it sits motionless on branches with its eyes partly closed. At night, it becomes an aerial hunter, silently catching moths, beetles, and other flying insects.
