The Scarlet-breasted Flowerpecker is a remarkable bird of the lush forests of Southeast Asia. Its glossy black upperparts, brilliant scarlet throat and breast, and short stubby bill make it instantly recognizable as it darts through the canopy searching for mistletoe berries and spiders hidden among leaves. It can even hover briefly while feeding, creating a flash of vibrant red against the green foliage.
