Behind a sandwich shop in freezing November air, a tiny white cat hid beside a dumpster, too weak to cry, too cold to run. Her small body shook against the ice covered ground, and her blue eyes looked dull with fear and hunger, like she had already given up on being saved.

Each step she tried to take made her stumble. Her paws were stiff from the cold, and her fur offered no warmth against the wind. She had no shelter, no family, no safe place to sleep that night.

She watched the back door in silence, her fragile body barely holding on, a sweet soul waiting in the cold, hoping someone might finally see her.
