1931 Cadillac V-12 Series 370A Seven Passenger Dual Windshield

Luxury automobile manufacturers faced unprecedented challenges during the onset of the Great Depression, yet Cadillac’s ambitious V-12 Series 370A demonstrated remarkable market appeal.

This premium model bridged the gap between the company’s V-8 and flagship V-16 lines, offering sophisticated engineering at a more accessible price point.

The V-12 featured distinctive styling cues that differentiated it from its sixteen-cylinder sibling. Its hood measured four inches shorter, while the headlights were reduced by one inch in diameter.

Chrome horns appeared slightly smaller, though the overall presence remained imposing between the flaring front fenders. Fisher and Fleetwood provided catalog bodies with luxuriously appointed interiors.

Despite economic uncertainty following the 1929 stock market crash, Cadillac manufactured 5,733 V-12s for the 1931 model year, demonstrating strong demand for well-engineered luxury automobiles.
