1967 Chevrolet Yenko Camaro RS/SS
Performance dealer Don Yenko partnered with Chevrolet tuner Dick Harrell to create highly modified Camaros that surpassed factory performance capabilities.
The Yenko Camaro SS427 started as a standard SS model equipped with the L78 375-horsepower 396. This engine was replaced with the more powerful L72 427 cubic inch (7.0L) V8 from the Corvette lineup.
Visual modifications included a distinctive Corvette Stinger-style fiberglass hood and Yenko 427 badges on the hood bulge and front fenders. Most examples were rated at 425 horsepower, though a few received additional tuning that increased output to approximately 450 horsepower at 6,000 RPM.
The 427 big-block featured a single Holley four-barrel carburetor, a mechanical-lifter camshaft, and a specially tuned exhaust system. Power was sent through a Muncie M21 close-ratio four-speed manual transmission.
Additional components included power front disc brakes, F41 heavy-duty suspension, Yenko traction bars, and Redline tires mounted on Rally wheels. The curb weight of the car was approximately 3,400 pounds.
