1967 Ford Mustang GT390 Fastback
The 1967 Mustang GT390 Fastback marked a defining moment in American muscle car history. Ford’s aggressive fastback design featured a dramatic sloping roofline that gave the pony car a more menacing stance while improving aerodynamics.
Under the hood sat a formidable 390-cubic-inch V8 producing 320 horsepower and 427 lb-ft of torque (enough for mid-14-second quarter-mile times). The GT package added distinctive side stripes, grille-mounted fog lamps, power disc brakes, and dual exhaust with chrome quad tips.
With only 13,852 units produced, the GT390 Fastback was relatively exclusive. It competed directly against the Camaro SS and Firebird 400, establishing itself as one of the most desirable first-generation Mustang variants.
