This tiny bird looks like a flying ruby hidden among the grass.

The Red Avadavat is a small finch found across South and Southeast Asia. During the breeding season, the male transforms into a brilliant scarlet red covered with tiny white spots, while the female keeps her softer brown plumage year-round. They feed on grass seeds and small insects, often moving through fields and wetlands in lively little flocks.

A dazzling splash of color in the wild, proving that some of nature’s brightest treasures come in the smallest packages.
