I usually bring my dogs along wherever I go, but sometimes, they have to stay home and hold down the fort. It never really crossed my mind to put a camera inside the house.

I figured the one outside, keeping an eye on the entrances, was enough. But, now and then, I can’t help but think about what a camera might reveal.

Well, one pet mom in Durham, North Carolina, decided to find out. She set up an indoor camera to keep an eye on her dog while she was away.

And what Sundae, her 10-year-old Labrador, did when left alone left everyone speechless—especially her growing fanbase on social media.

Who’s Keeping an Eye on Me?

Now I’d finally get to see what she’s up to when I’m not home—and solve the mystery of how all my things keep ending up in her dog bed.

That’s exactly what was on Sundae’s mom’s mind as she set up the indoor camera.

Every time she went out for a quick errand, she’d come back to find her sweet Labrador girl surrounded by socks, ChapStick, shoes, shirts—just about anything with mom’s scent.

“Every time I’d leave her for a bit, I’d come back to find a pile of my things—shoes, socks, even random bits like ChapStick—gathered in her bed,” Sundae’s mom shared. “I’d never actually caught her in the act, and I was just so curious to see her in action.”

It didn’t take long for Mom to get her chance. Shortly after installing the camera, she had to pop out for groceries—a perfect moment to leave Sundae to her own devices.

The camera was set to send alerts for any movement, so when her phone pinged, Mom couldn’t help but peek at the live feed.

What was Sundae doing?

Was she causing a ruckus, scattering things all over, or pawing at the door?

Was she having a bit of a meltdown?

You’d never believe what this sweet North Carolina girl actually did.

Everyone might expect her to go wild with zoomies all over the place, but Sundae surprised us all.

Sundae trotted over to the front door, settled down, and waited there with the saddest look on her face, her big eyes full of longing.

This sweet black Lab didn’t tear up the house or make a mess. Instead, she just looked…well, a little heartbroken.

“Every time she moved a bit by the door, I’d get a notification,” her mom shared. “Watching her waiting for me while I was in the grocery store just broke my heart. I even teared up.”
