Shelter Employee Walks Past Dog’s Kennel And Can’t Believe Her Eyes

Wile E. Coyote didn’t act like most dogs you’d find in a shelter. After being saved from an isolated area in Louisiana and taken in by the Louisiana SPCA, he kept a low profile. Peaceful and reserved, he seemed perfectly happy observing life from his cozy spot in the kennel.

That all changed one quiet Tuesday—when staff gave him a simple pillow.

Turns out, this pup has an unexpected obsession: feathers.

Feathers Everywhere

That night, with the shelter still and quiet, Wile stumbled upon something that completely changed his mood. Hidden inside the pillow was a jackpot of fluffy feathers—just waiting to be unleashed.

When staff returned the next morning, they walked into what looked like the aftermath of a feather-filled blizzard.

“The pillow was perfectly intact when we left at 5 p.m.,” said Jessyca Sulfsted, the Louisiana SPCA’s communications manager. “But by 7 a.m., feathers had taken over the entire kennel. It was everywhere you looked.”

A Proud Pup

Feathers were everywhere—tucked in corners, drifting through the air, and even sneaking under nearby kennels. And right at the center of the chaos sat Wile, clearly proud of the masterpiece he’d created overnight.

Though surprised, the staff couldn’t help but laugh.

“That’s the first and only thing he’s ever torn up,” Sulfsted chuckled. “He’s normally really laid-back, but those feathers must’ve awakened something in him.”

Still Finding Feathers

Even weeks after the incident, tiny reminders of Wile’s pillow adventure keep popping up. The shelter staff say feathers are still appearing in the most unexpected spots.

“Fun fact—we’re still discovering feathers tucked into random corners,” Sulfsted shared with a grin.

Feather frenzy aside, Wile E. Coyote is still the same gentle, good-natured dog—just with a newly discovered love for anything fluffy.

He’s now searching for a forever family, preferably one with a lively lifestyle, a playful spirit, and maybe a firm “no-feathers allowed” policy.
